🖼 Canvas Size (Important!)

Marion originally painted Silent Night Cottage on a 10x14 canvas.
You may bring any size you prefer, but please keep this in mind:

💡 The larger your canvas, the longer the painting will take.
Because this is a two-day workshop, students bringing very large canvases may fall behind the group.

👉 Your canvas size must be approved ahead of time so Hope can prepare a correct-sized sketch for you.

📅 Day 1 — February 14 (9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.)
The entire underpainting will be completed by the end of the first day.
This includes:

Priming the canvas

Tinting the sides

Sketch & sketch fixative

Blocking in shapes

Values, shadows, and foundational structure

All prep work Marion uses in her own tutorial

🎨 Day 2 — February 15 (9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.)
We dive into all the color work, including:

Background sky and atmosphere

The cottage and glowing windows

Foreground snow & soft lighting

Evergreens, branches, and final oil details

Finishing touches for a warm, glowing holiday scene
